I think I can help you with your temperature controller.
From the boiler going into your apartment, there should be a couple (or more) water lines which heat the various rooms of your apartment which have valves that control the amount of hot water going to these rooms.
On the controller, the top, large round dial controls the temperature in your apartment rooms. The top small grey button cycles the temperatures more quickly while the one directly underneath it is much slower and is usually used at night.
The third grey button from the top is your bath water temperature, and that temperature is controlled by the bottom, small round dial. For the water to stay hotter longer in the winter, you need to turn it all the way to the right. In the summer you will want to dial it back down the opposite way.
The fourth grey button from the top is for going out for very long periods of time, and you want to keep your pipes from freezing.
The red button is just a reset button. Occasionally, when there is a problem with the system (like you’ve used more hot water than the boiler can keep up with) some of the lights will usually blink green until the red button is pressed and the system is reset. Sometimes, you might actually have to turn the boiler on and off outside to reset it.
I hope this helps,

wpw, i'll try it... thanks!
If you touch the red button it will set off a nuclear explosion that'll make Hiroshima look like a campfire.
